Bethan Griffiths’s photographic collection ‘Journey – Light and Atmosphere’

I recently set my students a photographic brief looking at the theme of ‘Journey’ and its connection between Light and atmosphere. Below is the brief, followed by Picture Maker’s Student Bethan’s photographic collection.

Enjoy!

Photographic Brief –

Journey – Light and Atmosphere

Completed: 11.07.17

Produce between 6 to 8 photographs with the theme of ‘Journey’ but this time capturing the play of light and the atmosphere it encapsulates. Please interpret the theme of Journey as broadly as possible.

Step 1 Think About

Will you use natural or artificial lighting?

What will your chosen subject matter be? Will there be people in your work? Architecture? Or the detail of the natural landscape.

Will you capture night photography? Perhaps you will use slow shutter speeds, to capture Light trails.

Remember to use Composition;

Think about your vantage point, line, focus.

And a few more to think about; texture, shape of your subject matter, framing.
